Cyborg’s Problems With USADA
It was recently announced that Cris “Cyborg” Justino has been flagged by USADA from an out of competition test on December 5th. People are unsure what will happen with Cyborg, as this is the worst thing that can happen to her. Cyborg failed a drug test for steroids back when she fought for Strikeforce and has been criticized since. With the recent announcement of the Woman’s Featherweight weight class, it’ll be a shame to not see Cyborg compete.
UFC 206 Replay
On Christmas Eve, the UFC was so kind to replay the PPV card of UFC 206 on FOX. It ended up being a smart move, as the UFC brought in 4.7 million viewers. The only UFC card to do better on FOX was the inaugural UFC on Fox event; Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos. The actual UFC 206 PPV scored the lowest PPV buys of the year at 150,000 buys.
Featherweight/Lightweight Title Mess
At UFC 206, Max Holloway became the first person to knockout Anthony Pettis. Max also became the Interim Featherweight Champion with that victory. Many fans speculated on when Holloway would get his fight with Aldo, but it seems to be delayed. It was recently announced that Holloway injured his ankle and will be out until April.
Jose Aldo has recently stated that he is fighting for the Lightweight Interim title. Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov have also announced that they too are fighting for the Interim Lightweight title. It is rumored that the Interim Lightweight Title will be on the line at UFC 209 in March. The winner of that match up will get to fight Conor McGregor for the UFC Lightweight Championship.
