Featherweight Chaos

Today The UFC announced that Germaine de Randamie has been stripped of her Women's Featherweight World Championship. The reason for her removal as champion was her refusal to fight Cyborg. Earlier de Randamie told

“I had absolutely no idea that I was being stripped of the belt, I found out through social media. Cyborg is going to fight Megan for the belt.”

She went on to say: “Nobody ever told me anything about it.”

This Event Is Likely A Make Or Break For Bellator MMA

Bellator NYC is finally here, taking place this Saturday night June 24th. This is a historic event, as it will be the first major American MMA pay per view not produced by The UFC in over three years. A successful showing for Bellator here could open the doors for marquee fighters to have alternative place to work in the future.

The event is headlined by several former UFC stars and a former Pride FC Heavyweight Champion. Wanderlei Silva will return to the cage to take on rival Chael Sonnen. Matt Mitrione will take on the great Fedor Emelianenko. On top of that, former UFC stars Lorenz Larkin, Ryan Bader and Phil Davis will also compete that night. Add the voices of Mike Goldberg and Mauro Ranallo calling the action and you have the recipe for a fun night of fights.
