In a day where GSP already posted a pic of himself signing a bout agreement to meet Michael Bisping at UFC 217, Cody Garbrandt is now claiming via his official twitter that he is fighting TJ Dillashaw on the same event. The two were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 213, although that event seemed to be jinxed. Click here for more on that.
The two are former teammates at Team Alpha Male and coached against each other on The Ultimate Fighter season 25. After the season rapped, as usual custom the two coaches were set to fight. Garbrandt is the current 135 pound champ, while Dillashaw is the former champion, twice removed. A lot of bad blood has transpired between these two, especially through out the season of TUF.
Unfortunately two months out, Garbrandt suffered a neck injury. The fight was scrapped and fans were cheated out of a fight that would have been must see TV. Now according to Garbrandt’s tweet, the fight has been rescheduled for UFC 217 at Madison Square Garden. Check out the tweet in question below.
